They year is 2019 and another Protector event will be held in July this year. Last year we made really big changes into the game settings and game area, literally we made a restart. We re-located Zabul´s capital to Sarkani while Khas Konar has been abandoned, also main ISAF base has been re-located to another location a some villages changed their position too. Some succesfull in-game mechanics have been enabled too. Some of participants took over some personal responsibility too and joined the event´s preparations and brought some private enterprises with. With your help we made Protector great again. Now the plan is to apply some minor changes and operation map extension – we manage to rent a new part of surrounding area (NE from Zabul) full of great hilss and denses forests. Its name is Paktika, another province of Afghanistan. Movement (presence) in this newly added are is according some special rules.
There are many unique parties meeting and interacting each other – local villagers, ISAF soldiers, various agents, afghan police and army, medics, armed rebel groups, news teams and other characters and groups. The result of this mix depends on participants and their story engagement.

What is LARP ?
A live action role-playing game (LARP) is a form of role-playing game where the participants physically act out their characters' actions. The players pursue goals within a fictional setting represented by the real world, while interacting with each other in character. The outcome of player actions may be mediated by game rules, or determined by consensus among players. Event arrangers called gamemasters decide the setting and rules to be used and facilitate play.

This year we have incredible 16th installment of this legendary event, the org team is almost the very same with cumulated skills resulting in kind of event you will never forget. Together with Operation Kandahar II. in April and Operation Lizzard X. in May this the Protector is the third event in a row situated in Zabul. Contrary to those two events at Protector the main goals are reconstruction of the country and peacekeeping operations. Still both Kandahar and Lizzard are to have strong influence at Protector´s starting conditions.
As usually you can arrive on site few days prior the event start too so you can take in a „preProtector party“ in the capital Sarakani. And since the event ends on Saturday evening this year you can also take part in after action party. Or in both :-)
We succesfully tested so called Game Marshalls at last Protector, they were overseeing and handling rules violations. They will be present on site this year too for your better gameplay and safety.
Again, all Protector registrations are subjects of authorization proces which is made and controlled by the orgs only.
Afghan villagers
There are several villages and town in the province of Zabul. Every village has its own in-game elements like restaurant/buffet, theatre, post office and other services. Town will be acting like local social and economic hub including police station, restaurant, main mosque, governor´s office and other in-game elements. Some of these services are supplied and manned by the orgs still there is a lot of free spots for you, our participants, to improve the atmosphere by your fantasy and agility. People behind the AIRSOFTWARS z.s. will play the game in the roles of simple villagers.

The Governor and his Guard
Afghan government executive force in Zabul. The Governor establishes his office and supporting services and in cooperation with ANA and ANP maintain peace and order.
He is also representing the government of Afghanistan in relation with the ISAF forces, however he posses no jurisdiction over the international forces his consent with the ISAF operations and inspections is necessary.
The Governor leads and inffluences whole province.

Rebels
Zabul´s insurgency is based on islamic fundamental militia groups. Their only target is to evict foreign citizens and infidels out of their country, while their subsidiary target is to restore Islamic caliphate. Their mission could be met by faith preaching, helping villagers, terrorizing villagers, population weaponizing, attacking the ISAF and local government forces and preventing reconstruction works. At the very beginning of the game time the group will count 100 fighters top. You can´t register yourself with this group, you can only join the group during the game time.

International Security Assistance Force – ISAF
Strong coalition of proven and combat-hardened teams led by skilled command constructs and man up base of operations and airport in Zabul and commences preparations for international forces withdrawal (see the result of last year – Protector XV.) Whereas the mission and mandate is still valid the ISAF initiates reconstruction works, humanitarian aid and combat operations to maintain order and peace. Strong and friendly cooperation with local population is crucial to ensure smooth and safe withdrawal.

Afghan National Polie – ANP
Newly assembled police went through complex changes in past and now the recruitment process is underway. Do you want to serve the public and keep Zabul safe ? Then your duty is to joint he ANP. The ANP works together with the Governor and with the Afghan National Army.

Afghan National Army – ANA
Since 2014 the ANA made a lot of succesful steps forward. The Corps mission accomplishment rate is high and the ANA became natural part of the game. The recruitment proces is now open for the 2019 seasson with the Corps divided into four categories (militia, infanftry, commandos, special forces).
Assigment and equipment differs accordingly. The ANA works together with the Governor and with the Afghan National Police and is located at two smaller bases of operations.

Close Quarters Battle designed event with a total area of 25.000 m2 available including 7 smaller mostly singlefloored buildings and then also one fivefloored building of former factory. Maybe you don´t know the factory also has another three floors underground swarming with many hallways and rooms. One single uninterrupted compound.
